British Skydiving Council – Election of Non-executive Directors  

Welcome to the British Skydiving Council Election Portal for Non-executive Directors

This portal has been designed so that you, our members, can participate in the election.

The Council is seeking seven individuals with strong leadership skills who can continue to develop and maintain British Skydiving’s strategic focus and help the organisation to achieve its goals and are able to take up the position of Non-executive Director.

In order to meet its priority tasks over the next few years and deliver on its Strategic Plan 2023-27, Council is particularly interested in candidates with skills and experience in the following areas: Compliance (regulatory); Governance (Sport, Voluntary Organisation); Risk Management; Strategic Planning & Focus.

This opportunity is suitable for those able to make a commitment to devote the necessary time. As a minimum, Non-executive Directors generally give approx. 8 hours per month for Board matters and we ask Directors to give at least one day per year to representing British Skydiving at one of the Association’s events, at a DZ that is not their home DZ. Directors are also expected to contribute to a Committee or Working Group, which requires approximately an additional 4 hours per month.

Nominees need to have strategic vision, independent judgement, and the ability to think creatively and a clear commitment to inclusion and diversity within the sport.

Nominees must be eligible to act as a Director under the Companies Act 2006 (i.e. not declared bankrupt, without unspent criminal convictions for offences related to dishonesty or fraud and not disqualified by court order.

Location: Home-based with three in-person Board meetings per year (including the Inaugural Meeting and the AGM) and representation of the Association at a British Skydiving event.
